Lightly race Alamosa 6 year old Tiger Tim who had already won 4 races in New Zealand, scored at his third outing since owners/breeders Peter Gillespie and Bill Gleeson transferred him to Victorian trainer Peter Gelagotis to chase some of the very attractive stake money on offer at all levels for stayers with ability. This rangy son of Alamosa and Zabeel mare Zatiger settled just off the pace in the R70 2000M at Ballarat  before taking over on straightening and carried Dean Yendall to a very easy 3.5 length win , leaving the impression that there's plenty more in store.
