Alamosa, New Zealand’s highest rated three-year-old of recent times, has covered in excess of 100 mares in each of his three seasons at stud, and has been supported by many of New Zealand’s leading breeders.

Alamosa’s first crop are turning heads as yearlings, the sire putting both strength and class into his offspring. His first crop of yearlings sell at Karaka 2012, an exciting prospect for the team at Wellfield.

At a fee of just $15,000, Alamosa is accessible to breeders at all commercial levels, giving them access the O’Reilly/Last Tycoon sire-line that is so heavily in demand in our leading markets.

As a racehorse, Alamosa demonstrated precocious speed, courage, and an outstanding ability as a Group One winning miler. As a stallion he has taken to his new career with ease, and has all the credentials to join the list of New Zealand’s most successful sires.
