Sire Line

Handsome Ransom’s sire, Red Ransom, has established one of the most respected stud careers of any stallion to shuttle to Australia.

A son of the great Epsom Derby winner Roberto, Red Ransom has proven both versatile and extremely prolific at stud, leaving 96 stakes winners at a wide range of distances and ages.

Two of his recent Group One winners share much in common with the pedigree of Handsome Ransom. Both STC Coolmore Classic winner Typhoon Tracy, and AJC Champagne Stakes winner Onemorenomore, are from daughters of Last Tycoon, who, in Mill Reef, shares the same damsire as Handsome Ransom.

Such has been the success of Red Ransom from his Australian base that a number of his best performed sons are finding themselves in hot demand as sire prospects. From his early northern hemisphere crops, Red Ransom is already a proven sire of sires with his sons Sri Pekan (38 SW) and Intikhab (17 SW), both proven Group One producers forging respected stud careers.
