Trewornan, the imported dam of Road To Rock, adds a touch of international flavour to the pedigree of Road To Rock - within three generations the family containing Group or Graded winners in England, France, Hong Kong, Australia, America and South Africa.
Road To Rock’s dam is a daughter of the Miswaki sire Midyan, whose 17 stakes winners include Cheers Hong Kong, winner of the HK-1 Hong Kong Champions & Chater Cup. Since her importation to Australian in 2001, Trewornan’s yearlings have sold up to $300,000 and her stakes placed Redoute’s Choice daughter recently sold in foal for $200,000.
Second dam of Road To Rock is Miss Silca Key, a daughter of Welsh Saint, a sire familiar to New Zealand breeders as the second dam-sire of seven times champion sire Volksraad.
Miss Silca Key, a winner of the Gr. 3 Royal Ascot Jersey Stakes at three, is also the dam of French Group Three winner Central City (Midyan), who in turn has produced the multiple Gr. 3 Kentucky Cup Turf Hcp winner Rochester. Others from the international family include South African Group Three winner Smangaliso, Hong Kong black-type winner Lucky Six and Newmarket July Stakes winner Fallow.
