Jessiegee wins the Wairoa Cup

Alamosa mare Jessiegee proved too strong in stepping up to 2100 metres and taking out the Open Handicap Wairoa Cup today.Trained by Mike Breslin for Bill Gleeson who bred the mare in partnership with Tanya Goss, Jessiegee, aided by a smooth ride from Lisa Allpress that saw the mare traveling sweetly mid-field on the fence, before working clear of traffic coming off the bend and finishing the job in style. This was the fourth win for the half-sister to St Leger winner Rock On and her relaxed style of racing should carry her a long way racing over ground in the future.
